Wilmington Whiteface 100k Endurance MTB

After a three year hiatus, the Wilmington Whiteface 100 KM Endurance Mountain Bike Race returned to the heart of New York's Adirondack Mountains this weekend. Over 500 athletes raced 65 miles (7,500 vertical feet) in the "Beast of the East" over pavement, jeep trail, gravel roads, and single-track trail with many hoping to earn a coveted "golden ticket" to compete in the Leadville 100 Mountain Bike Race later this summer in Colorado.

Buoyed by our 2021 Leadville success we were proud to send a crew to Wilmington Whiteface hoping to earn a golden ticket. Chris Meacham (Doylestown) and Jason Wood (Lansdale) from our elite team competed this weekend with the hopes of returning to Leadville to better there times with the benefit of experience. Our sponsor, Dr. Rob Riesenberger (Doylestown) hopes to compete in his seventh Leadville race. Mike Bowe (Doylestown), Pete Smith (Doylestown), and Rob Beighley (Solebury) from our club team are hoping to race their first ever Leadville. Together we shared a great weekend in the High Peaks region preparing, competing, and enjoying community. You can see the full results here.

Chris Meacham (Doylestown) led the way for our team finishing in 4 hours, 53 minutes (5th in the 25-29 age group) earning a golden ticket to the Leadville 100 MTB race. Last year, Chris finished his first Leadville just 14 minutes shy of the benchmark 9 hour time limit so he has unfinished business there. Jason Wood (Lansdale) completed the course in a very respectable 5:08.56 in the 40-49 age group. Dr. Rob Riesenberger won his age group (60-69) in the shorter, 50 mile race category, and we're proud to say that all of our club riders (Pete, Mike and Rob) completed the 100k course successfully and in good health. Beers and trout from the Ausable River were consumed and we cannot wait for the 2023 event hoping that more teammates will join in on the fun.

Thank you to our sponsors at the Solebury Club who provided the amazing lodgings on the Ausable River in Wilmington, NY for our team's attempt at the 2022 Wilmington Whiteface 100k MTB Challenge. Our teammates Rob & Liz Beighley became partners at the Solebury Club during a challenging time and we are excited to see them emerge with a full schedule of in-person and live-streamed Yoga, Karate, Group Fitness and Personal Fitness classes and sessions at their first-class facility. Like so many of our community-based sponsors, we share a love of movement.
