Chong, Dudle on the Podium at the Main Line

Bike racing returned to the streets of downtown Ardmore (Lower Merion Twp., Montgomery County) on Saturday, August 21st in the form of the Main Line Bike Race. Our athletes participated in the Independence Blue Cross Men's Pro Category 1-2, Main Line Health Women's Pro Category 1-2, and Meridian Bank Men's Category 3-4 races. Definitely a great opportunity for our athletes to tune-up heading into a big month of road racing at a local venue.

Jessica Chong (Lehigh Valley) fresh off a team win at the Keirin Revenge on the track at T-Town on Friday night edged out Julianna Rutecki of Vitesse Racing for first place in the Main Line Health Women's Pro Category 1-2 race. Just to round out her day, Chonger also finished 26th in the Independence Blue Cross Men's Pro Cat 1-2 race. With track racing winding down for the season, we are really looking forward to seeing more of Jessica back on the road heading towards the Bucks County Classic.

Likewise Andy Dudle (Emmaus) was fresh off his own team win at the Kierin Challenge at T-Town on Friday night and finished third at the Independence Blue Cross Men's Pro 1-2 race at Main Line. To secure the podium spot, Andy won the field sprint. Cycling coach extraordinaire Bill Elliston said it Andy's success stemmed from showing patience in the group. Connor Thompson (Sinking Springs) was there to offer team support finishing in the group at 17th. Andy and Chonger will be back in action this Friday night at T-Town in the Madison Cup and we'll be there to bang the boards for them.

Alden Weinhold (Doylestown) and Steve Szabo (Doylestown) lined-up in the Men's Category 3-4 race with Alden coming home with 7th place overall. Both Alden and Steve are completing their first full seasons of racing and give us hope for a bright future for the team. You can see the full results of Main Line here.
