Connor Thompson 2nd at Simon's Heart

Connor Thompson (Sinking Springs, PA) joined our elite team in 2019 and we were so excited to see his transition from juniors racing. Then he suffered a collapsed lung, had surgery, and had to sit out the season recovering. In 2020 racing largely disappeared from the calendar as part of the SARS CoV-2 mitigation, and Connor suffered a second collapsed lung while training. We were all assured that the surgeries would prevent any further issues, but guess what happened in 2021? Connor was able to recover enough to participate in the end of the 2021 season, even competing the Bucks County Classic.

On Saturday April 16th something cool happened at the Simon's Heart Spring Classic in Trexlertown, PA. At the Men's Pro 1-2-3 race, Connor broke away from a talented field with one other racer and stayed away for 34 miles, finishing 2nd overall. We are so excited for Connor and proud of his resilience and persistence and we can't wait to see what comes next. Kudos to teammates Andy Dudle (11th) and Jason Wood (43rd) who worked hard for their teammate. Full results here.
