2021 Guys Neshaminy MTB Classic

I'll grant you that when you think of Bucks County, you don't usually think "mountains." Surprisingly we are blessed with a number of facilities and locations within our county that are great for mountain biking: the IMBA trail system at Lake Nockamixon, Core Creek Park, and the lesser known trails at Neshaminy High School in Langhorne among them. Our friendly competitors at Guy's Bike Shop in Feasterville and their associated racing team have been hosting the Guy's Neshaminy Mountain Bike Classic for many years, and we were so pleased to have a number of elite and amateur athletes return to the trails there last weekend.

Andrea Ramos Bozak led the way for our team with a 2nd place finish in the Women's CAT 1 (age 40+) competition on the 21 mile course. Other podium winners were Travis Haggerty (Horsham) who finished 2nd in the Men's Junior Race on the 8.5 mile course, and Jacob Ehlinger (Doylestown) who finished 3rd in the CAT 3 (19-29),15 mile race.

One of the great things about mountain bike races is that it makes racing so accessible to a large number of our club and amateur riders. It isn't all about who was successful in reaching the podium, but just as importantly about interacting with the bike community and pushing oneself to get out and compete. Kudos to Joe Linderman (Doylestown) and Greg Wesolovich (Fogelsville) who participated in the CAT 2 Clydesdale Division, Jerry Bower III (Jamison) in the Junior Men Division, and Dominic Frascella (Lansdale) who was 5th in the CAT 3 (30-39) race. In every picture, everyone is smiling.
