The Mid-Atlantic Super Series of Mountain Biking is an annual, season-long competition of mountain bike races from New York State to Maryland and as far west as the Susquehanna River. Results in this series are always the goal for our racers. Jacob Ehlinger (Doylestown) has been racing competitive mountain biking since early, even taking 2nd place in USA XC MTB National Championships as a 13-year old. Then came motorcycle and automobile racing. Then he happily found his way back to the mountain bike and has been leaping up the standings for several years.

On Saturday, Jacob took 4th at a muddy, slick Big Elk Off Road Mountain Bike Race in Elkton, MD, securing the necessary points to win the 2024 XC Pro Elite CAT 1 Open championship. This is a huge deal for our program because we've not traditionally been known for mountain bike results. I guess that has changed. Coupled with Jacob's results at USA Cycling XC Mountain Bike Nationals, he's had a huge season. Teammate Steve Schwarz (Doylestown) finished the season series in 2nd place overall in the Men's Category 1 (40-49 age group) category. Our patron Mike Bowe (Doylestown) wasn't chasing season standings but did navigate the mud to a 4th place finish at Big Elk in the Men's combined Category 1/2 fields for his advanced aged group.
