Doylestown Bike Works Racing Team p/b Fred Beans

Chris was born and raised in Doylestown, graduating from CB East High School and Drexel University. Chris is 27 years old and has been a licensed racer since 2014. Chris joined our team in 2018 as a Category 2 road racer and had 27 starts. His most successful result was third place at the West Dundee River Challenge in the Intelligensia Cup in Chicago, Illinois. Chris has been living with and training with teammate Colin Kelly this year and came into spring in great fitness with the goal of earning his Category 1 upgrade in 2019.

Chris was born and raised in Jamison, PA and is a graduate of CB South High School and Appalachian State University. He currently lives and trains in Doylestown. Chris has been a licensed racer since 2009 and raced professionally for the Airgas Cycling program where he was a teammate of 2013 Vuelta a Espana Champion Chris Horner. He is proficient on the velodrome, on the road and on the trail. He will be racing the Leadville 100 this season along with many other alternative calendar races. Chris is a performance specialist for Epic Sports Biomechanics, whose services include coaching, conditioning, and biomechanical cycling analysis.

Jason was born and raised in Doylestown, PA graduating from CB East High School and Dickinson College. Jason is 37 years old and has been a licensed bicycle racer since 2009. Jason joined our team in 2018 and had 24 starts. Jason had his primary results successes in master's races in 2018 but also finished 7th at the South Jersey Grand Prix. Jason's teammates value his enormous engine and all the work he does on behalf of his team within the race. Jason is also proficient in track and mountain bike racing.

Marc lives in Emmaus, PA with his beautiful girlfriend Lauren and perfect daughter November. He got his first bike in 2013 and began racing in 2017. In 2019 he won the CAT 3 race at the Daniel Harwi Lower Providence Criterium, a minute ahead of the field. Marc lists his 2020 goals as "doing what it takes to help my teammate stand on the podium as well as help our Junior riders get their upgrades. I plan to do this through being a supportive teammate with a positive attitude and look forward to some of the community events that the team participates in."

Connor lives in Sinking Spring, PA and is a senior at Wilson High School. he started out racing on the track and transitioned to road racing. He's been racing competitively for 4 years as part of the Young Medalist program, and is particularly proud of his racing experiences in Europe. His 2020 goals are to "help my teammates to win some bike races, develop myself as a racer, and have fun."

Andy resides in the Lehigh Valley in an 1860's farmhouse. He grew up mountain biking with his dad in the Delaware Water Gap. After racing collegiately for Penn State University, he earned his Category 1 road racing license in 2018. His goals in 2020 include improving in the track discipline, helping his teammates develop, and exploring different race disciplines like mountain biking and gravel racing. Andy's notable results include: 1st 2018 Smoketown Airport Crit; 2018 PCA Elite Men Rider of the Year; 2018 PA BAR Category 2 Champion; 2019 Pro Pedal Series Overall Winner; 3rd 2019 Blueberry Bicicletta Road Race; 3rd 2019 Smoketown Airport Crit; 4th 2019 Historic Marietta Crit; 1st 2019 Reading Radsport Fixed Gear Hill Climb; 1st 2019 Electric City Fixed Gear Hill Climb

Colin currently lives and grew up mere miles from the world famous Lehigh Valley Velodrome in Trexlertown, Pennsylvania. He grew up watching and racing against past and future Olympians on the track. After a few years away from the sport he returned to racing in 2014, winning his first race back in the Cat 5 field. Fast forward a few years, Colin, now a Cat 1, is building off of his two most successful seasons to date in 2018 and 2019. As an all-rounder, Colin has goals of leading out team sprinter Andrew Dudle and helping develop younger teammates Sam Smith and Connor Thompson, while hopefully picking up a few of his own results along the way.

Zak resides in Glenside, PA with his wife and two children. Although not a Doylestown native, he is very familiar with the area as he went to Delaware Valley University for his undergraduate degree and is currently attending for his MBA. After making the transition from wrestling to cycling, Zak found Doylestown Bike Works and has been a part of the team since 2016. 2019 saw Zak return from injury, placing 3rd at the High Point Hill Climb and standing on several cyclocross podiums culmination in 2nd place overall in the PACX series. In 2020 Zak hopes to expand his cycling abilities through track racing, continue to build upon his cyclocross results, and provide positive contributions to the team and community while representing DBW.

As an athlete, Bill started racing at age 14 and over the last 35 years has competed all across the US, Canada, Belize, Dominican Republic, Guadeloupe and New Zealand. He raced professionally with Navigators Insurance Team, Sony Music Studios, TARGETRAINING, and Rite Aid Pro Cycling. In His final year as a professional, 2008, he had the distinction of being the oldest US registered professional.

As a coach, I began mentoring team-mates and friends in the late 1990’s, began my formal coaching at Targetraining in 2005, and started Elliston Coaching in January 2007 where he provides one-on-one athlete coaching, as well as offer clinics, camps and seminars.

In that time, Bill has also run Junior, U23, and U25 teams, exposing athletes to national and world class events in an environment that educates them on how to be successful athletes, and people.

Guillaume Nelessen, otherwise know as “Gui”. Started racing more than 25 years ago at the age of 13. Several of those years were spent as a pro, traveling racing abroad. Some career accolades include: over 90 career wins, 4 Elite National Championships, 1 Masters National Championship, 14 time National medalist and 5 years on the US National Track Team. Gui currently resides in Lambertville, New Jersey with his wife, daughter, and two dogs. Gui still enjoys racing and teaching young aspiring elite cyclists. Oh and beer.

Brian is a partner at Doylestown Bike Works and has served as the team manager since 2017. In 2020 his goals are to expand our women's representation, increase the competitive environment within the program, and watch our team do epic things.

Danielle was raised in Pipersville, PA where she currently attends CB East High School as a junior. Danielle is 17 years old and started racing at the Valley Preferred Cycling Center (Trexlertown, PA) in the fall of 2013; she is now a Category 3 track racer. Over the last two years, she has been building up experience by traveling to Milton for the Ontario Cup, following the Track Development Race Series, and often making an appearance on Friday nights at the Trexlertown velodrome. Her goals for this year include staying healthy after being recently being diagnosed with Grave’s Disease and enjoying track racing.

Paige was born and raised in Pipersville, PA, graduating from CB East High School. She is currently a student at University of Delaware. Paige is 20 years old and has been a licensed bicycle racer since 2012. She has represented Team USA in Europe at the 2017 Junior Nations Cup. Her best result was 4th place at the 2017 Tour of Somerville representing Fearless Femme Racing. She has joined our team this year with the goal of simply enjoying bike racing.

Dan serves as our team mechanic. He is a partner at Doylestown Bike Works, and a licensed UCI Pro Mechanic. His 2020 goals for the team include having the most fully supported road, track, mountain and cyclo-cross team on the planet!

New Jersey native Jessica Chong aka Chonger, moved to the Lehigh Valley to pursue teaching and triathlons. During her six years as a professional triathlete, she dabbled in road and track cycling, winning both Elite Pennsylvania Cycling Association (Best All-Around Rider) Track and Road Racing titles as well as an Elite State Road Racing title. She eventually gave up triathlons because it felt more like a job than something she actually enjoyed. In 2019, she finished 3rd overall in the Rider of the Year standings at the Valley Preferred Cycling Center, and is looking to defend her Elite National Championship Team Pursuit title in 2021. Away from cycling she loves dogs and eating a disproportionate amount of food for her size.
