2021 Lower Providence Spring Classic Criterium

All Photos: Ron Short unless otherwise stated.

The 33rd annual Daniel Harwi Lower Providence Spring Classic Criterium is a favorite of our elite and amateur racers in no small part because it's hosted nearby in Montgomery County, PA allowing so many of our elite and club members an opportunity to compete. In the Open Pro Category 1-2-3 race, our team led Andy Dudle (Emmaus) to third place overall. Kudos to Chris Meacham (Doylestown), Marc Kubushefski (Emmaus), Gui Nelessen (Lambertville), and Jason Wood (Lansdale) for doing the work to get him there. More on this later, but we see teammate Jessica Chong finishing in 28th place so truly an "open" category race. We really feel as though the team is starting to find some form after practically a year hiatus.

Jessica Chong not only got our highest platform position with a 2nd place finish in the Women's Category 1-2-3 race, won the field sprint, and she also had our team's busiest day. The Chonger finished in 28th place in the Men's Pro 1-2-3 race, 17th in Open Cat 3 race. That's 77 miles of racing in some pretty aggressive heat and humidity after she'd done a ton of work for the team at the Valley Preferred Cycling Center Velodrome on Friday night.

Some other shout-outs as well: Rena Fascella (Lansdale) 11th in the Women's 4/5 race, husband Dominic Frascella Lansdale in 38th, just behind father-son duo Dave Szabo (Doylestown) and Steve Szabo in 32nd and 12th places, and Joey Kubushefski (Emmaus) in 20th place all in the Category 4 race. Also, Rob Beighley (Solebury) in the Men's 55+ Category. Full results here: https://www.road-results.com/r...
